I know that feeling. On plenty of days, I’ve gotten off the bus home from work, walked to the door, fumbled in my pocket for my house keys, and realized they’re locked in the compartment on my motorcycle. In the parking deck at the office.

I remember falling asleep on the train ride home, and then waking up somewhere, thinking it was early morning the next day and I was heading the wrong way to school/work., only before realizing it was the correct day and I was going in the correct direction. This has happened to me twice.

I don’t think I’ve done that but there was a few times last summer I locked the doors walked outside(I didn’t have a store key at the time) and realized I took my longboard to work that day. That mile long walk home takes a lot longer, and isn’t as fun. Or I’d take the moped, and think I left the keys in it, as I often did, only to find I had left them inside.

Years ago on a train ride home, a woman across the aisle from me fell so soundly asleep that I was unable to wake her up in time to get off at her stop.
